Rotating collections of artifacts depicting the history of Monroe County along with art exhibits and traveling exhibitions can be found at the Old Courthouse Museum. The museum is housed in the old county courthouse and is one of the most photographed historic buildings in Alabama. The museum regularly hosts art exhibits and traveling exhibitions and was also used as the model for the courtroom in the movie version of Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird."
